Operations at factories in Kunshan in eastern China were halted after cases of COVID-19 were reported, the report said.
Apple Inc’s lead supplier, Foxconn Technology Group, has halted operations at two of its factories in Kunshan, eastern China, after new cases of COVID-19 were reported on the ground, the South China Morning Post reported Monday.
Operations at those factories have been suspended since last Wednesday, with all workers locked up in indoor dormitories, the report said.
Located in Dianfa and Fuhong in the northern part of Kunshan, the two Foxconn factories are two of the four manufacturing campuses operated in the city by the Taiwanese company, also known as Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd.
Apple and Foxconn did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.
