An article on Tuesday about a pledge by Democratic leaders and the White House to complete a highly controversial 304-mile gas pipeline in West Virginia in exchange for Senator Joe Manchin III’s support for climate legislation mistimed the announcement of Mr Manchin on the agreement. It was Monday, not Tuesday.

An article on Monday about changes in the United Auto Workers union following a corruption scandal misrepresented the title of a union official who ran for reelection and whose name was embroidered on backpacks to be given to members. He is secretary-treasurer, not vice president. The article also misrepresented a compensatory measure approved by the union’s board of directors. The increased pensions for employees at the union headquarters; it did not increase their wages, nor the wages and pensions of the board members.

An article on Tuesday about the difficulties smokers could soon face after the Food and Drug Administration said it would move to lower nicotine levels in cigarettes misrepresented the number of vape products that have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration to date. Drug Administration has been approved. It’s almost two dozen, not six.
