The right-wing activists called Rep. Dan Crenshaw “Eyepatch McCain”
Right-wing protesters harassed Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw at the Texas Republican Party convention on Saturday accused the congressman of following the orders of the World Economic Forum, derisively calling him “Eyepatch McCain.†
Social media activist Alex Stein approached Crenshaw as he entered the convention in Houston. When Crenshaw’s staff and security led the congressman away, Stein loudly called him a “globalist RINO” and “Eyepatch McCain”, the former an acronym for ‘Republican in Name Only’ and the latter a comparison to the late Arizona Senator John McCain.
Fox News host Tucker Carlson recently referred to Crenshaw as “Eyepatch McCain‘ during his primetime show.
McCain was one of the most consistently pro-war voices within the Republican Party, while Crenshaw supported the US government’s $40 billion military aid to Ukraine and opposed the US withdrawal from Afghanistan last year.
In a separate video, another right-winger, Cassady Campbell, hammered Crenshaw for his vote on the Ukrainian bill. †Gas costs $5 here and you give Ukraine all this money? And also the red flag laws Dan? That is ridiculous.†
While Crenshaw has previously spoken in agreement about so-called “red flag laws,” which in some cases would allow police to seize firearms from civilians, he voted against a recent bill that would provide for those laws.

When Crenshaw was led away from the hecklers, another social media poster, Campbell called the congressman a “World Economic Forum sold out”, referring to his listing as one of the globalist organization’s “Young Global Leaders.”
Another heckler stated that Crenshaw should be “hanged for treason†
All those involved in the nuisance were removed from the room. Crenshaw himself explained that the incident was”what happens when angry little guys like Alex Stein don’t grow up and can’t have girlfriends.†
