Iran said some girls’ schools were recently poisoned with the aim of stopping education.
Washington:
The reports of poisoned schoolgirls in Iran are “deeply concerning” and the world needs to know what caused the ailments, White House national security spokesman John Kirby told reporters on Thursday.
According to the country’s health minister, hundreds of Iranian girls in various schools have suffered “mild poison attacks” in recent months, with some politicians suggesting they may have been targeted by religious groups opposed to girls’ education.
