Russian officials said Wednesday that five people were killed in Russia’s Mykolaiv region and 14 people were injured in the Zaporizhzhya region. The death toll from a rocket attack on residential buildings in the eastern city of Chasiv Yar has risen to 48, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Wednesday evening. Still, recent Russian offensive efforts in the east, in Sloyansk and in the north, in and around Kharkov, analysts say have failed to gain ground.
