(CNN) — Pull out your credit card and have your favorite booking platforms at the ready: American magazine and news website TIME just released its list of the world’s 50 best places of 2022.

The list was compiled by its international network of correspondents and collaborators, and, TIME said in a statement, “with a view to those offering new and exciting experiences.”

The 50 destinations that fall by the wayside are both classic big hitters and less explored spots, but what unites them is that they “bloom, grow and change,” says TIME, “pave a path to economic recovery” and “invest in durability.”

North America

In the United States, TIME recommends the hip centers on the west coast of Portland, Oregonand San Franciscothe coastal region of Florida Miamiand Michigan’s “Comeback City” Detroit† The winter ski destination Park City, Utahalso winks.

In Canada’s capital, Ontario Toronto and the small surf town Tofino, British Columbiaare the choices, and further north again, Illuissatin mainland Greenland, opens out to Disko Bay, the ‘Grand Canyon of the Arctic Circle’.

The ever-popular beach destinations of Jamaica and Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit also make the list of 2022.

South America

The city of Saltain the mountainous northwest of Argentina, and the village El Chaltenin the country’s Los Glaciares National Park, caught the attention of TIME this year.

Chilean Rapa Nuic — better known as Easter Island — en Ecuador’s Galápagos Islands are two volcanic wonders that made the list.

The bustling metropolises of bogotá colombia, and Sao Paulo, Brazilare two more urban recommendations from TIME.

Europe

The Czech mountain resort of Dolni Morava makes the list.

In Britain, the rural charms of the English county Devon and the city portraiton the Scottish Isle of Skye, give the thumbs up this year.

The Western European Cities of Marseille (France), Copenhagen (Denmark), Skelleftea (Sweden) and Valencia (Spain) all get a wink.

Then there is the Italian region of Calabriathe ancient Greek city Thessalonikithe Portuguese region of Alentejo and the archipelago of Madeira.

The small Czech ski resort of Dolni Morava and the Lithuanian fortress city Kaunas make the list, just like the historical splendor of the Turkish capital Istanbul

Asia-Pacific

indias Kerala and Ahmedabad belong to the Asian recommendations, as well as the Japanese islands of Setouchia and Kyushu

The South Korean capital of Seoul is a top tip, just like the Indonesian province Bali and the central island of the Philippines Boracay

Australia’s Great Barrier Reef and the port city Fremantle both get a nod just like Queenstown in New Zealanda hub for adventure sports in the South Island.

Finally, Bhutan’s Trans-Bhutan Trail and the historic Silk Roads of Uzbekistan are some of the less traveled grounds in this year’s picks.

Middle East

Qatar and its capital Doha have everyone’s attention this year, as it hosts the 2022 World Cup in December, while the emerging adventure haven destination of Ras Al Khaimahi in the United Arab Emirates also made the cut.

Africa

The Kenyan capital of Nairobi and the Rwandan capital of Kigalia are TIME’s urban choices from Africa. South Africa’s Franschhoekknown for its wineries, and Zambia’s Lower Zambezi National Park are also recommended.

Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe is the continent’s final selection.

The big after

For the most intrepid of travelers, TIME’s 2022 picks also include the Arctic polar region and the International Space Stationwhich just hits the list criteria by being in low Earth orbit.
