The last: The United Nations has expressed hope that the first grain shipments from blocked Ukrainian ports can begin on Friday. However, the exact coordinates needed to ensure safe passage for ships are still under negotiation on Thursday, UN deputy chief Martin Griffiths said.
The fight: Russia’s recent operational hiatus appears to be coming to an end, which analysts have identified in recent weeks as an attempt to regroup troops before doubling down in southern and eastern Ukraine. Russia appears poised to resume ground offensives, with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on Saturday ordering troops to intensify attacks “in all operational sectors” of Ukraine.
The weapons: Ukraine uses weapons such as Javelin anti-tank missiles and Switchblade “kamikaze” drones, supplied by the United States and other allies. Russia has used a range of weapons against Ukraine, some of which have attracted the attention and concern of analysts.
