Vladimir Putin greets ‘new centers of power’ at summit with Asian leaders – Times of India

SAMARKAND: Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the growing influence of “new centers of power” on Friday at a summit with Asian leaders, including China’s Xi Jinping.
“The growing role of new centers of power collaborating with each other is becoming increasingly apparent,” Putin told the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting in ex-Soviet Uzbekistan.
“We are open to cooperation with the whole world,” Putin said.
“Our policies are devoid of selfishness. We hope that others will implement their policies according to the same principles and stop using the tools of protectionism, illegal sanctions and economic selfishness,” Putin said.
The summit brought Putin and Xi together with the leaders of several Asian countries, including India and Pakistan, as Russia appears to show that it is not completely isolated from the conflict in Ukraine.
