Hotels.com is looking for a Retro Beach motel, who will visit several retro beach motels across the United States and enjoy 1950s-style ocean views.
The motelier will be outfitted with old-fashioned accessories, including SPF zinc, striped umbrellas, vintage sunglasses, cooler, and even a solar-powered AM/FM radio to enjoy tunes. The job will consist of offline activities, such as documenting the journey “for generations to come” using a classic Polaroid camera.
The professional vacationer gets a $10,000 stipend to cover travel expenses, and a $5,000 salary to spend on classic beach snacks like saltwater taffy, frozen custard, and snow horns.
“Travelers today often look for all-inclusive hotels and resorts when planning their summer vacation, but our Retro Beach Motelier wants to prove that beach motels can be just as luxurious,” says Melissa Dohmen of Hotels.com. “These timeless motels are not only budget-friendly, but transport beachgoers – literally and figuratively – back in time to really disconnect and relax.”
Those who don’t want to travel alone can bring a guest to join.
